NOT TRENDY: Kanye Doesn’t Support GoodWood NYC Jesus Pieces
You can all probably tell that I’m a huge Kanye West fan, from his music to his style. And if you all kept up with my other posts, I’m a huge supporter of GoodWood NYC and the new black and maple Jesus Pieces that they recently released (I purchased both).
Before I continue on, understand that GoodWood NYC has made QUALITY pieces that are carved with the utmost care and reasonably priced at $50 for the maple and $65 for the one-time release of the black.
Okay, now… Kanye posted on his blog “THIS IS SO BOGUS! PLEASE DON’T SUPPORT THE BOOTLEGGERS.” Now, I really don’t understand this–it’s not like everyone can afford to buy a $2,000 Jesus piece at will, and it’s not like the GoodWood piece is a bootleg of anything. The GoodWood Jesus is an original item in itself–I mean, when’s the last time you saw such a detailed wooden Jesus head, or better yet, when’s the last time you saw a wooden Jesus head at all?
What kills me is that Kanye’s homeboy and A&R Patrick “Plain Pat” Reynolds was photoed wearing a bunch of GoodWood Jesus Pieces… LOL @ Kanye’s team wearing it yet Kanye is trying to bash it:
So–for the first time ever–I have to disagree with Kanye.
