What Car is Kanye West Driving in the Runaway video? A DOPE Tatra MTX V8i!

Before I get into how awesome this video really is, I must apologize for my brief hiatus. What does a TRENDYBLACKGUY like myself do during a month away from blogging? Well, I’m happy you asked. In the past month, I’ve gotten myself an awesome blogging/web developing job for a CPA firm. I’ve began to also accustom myself to this Houston, TX lifestyle. As a New Yorker it was definitely quite the adaptation. Nonetheless, I’m here and I’m ready to blog. Okay…I can easily talk about all of the imagery and symbolism in this video, but that would lead me into a 40+ page blog post. Instead, I’ll skip all the references to Amber Rose, the inclusion of Kanye’s personal problems, and the overall message of the short film. What I want to point out, though, is the DOPE ASS car that Kanye is driving in the beginning of the film right before he finds the Phoenix.

So, What Car is Kanye Driving in the “Runaway” Video?

In the Runaway video, Kanye West is driving a Tatra MTX V8i. How dope is that car? I didn’t really know much about Tatra until I did some standard Googling, lol. Anyway, this car is definitely an early 1990′s car. Most super fast cars, such as Lamborghini’s and NSX’s, shared similar body styles in the early 90′s. Kanye has such an awesome eye for aesthetics, and his choice of car for the film only further solidifies his good taste. The Tatra MTX V8i is currently made in the Czech Republic and is super f*cking awesome. There’s another shot of the MTX in the Runaway video that I really liked. It is a shot of the interior of the car as Kanye is driving down that empty road. I don’t know why I’m so astounded by this interior picture. If I had to guess, I’d say that it’s something about the old-looking interior that just excites the hell out of me! Look at the placement of the temperature gauge, fuel gauge, oil gauge, etc. Also, take note of the rear view mirror. You can see Kanye’s diamond teeth. Haha, he’s really living the rock star life, huh? I could see myself cruising down an empty country road in that Tatra MTX V8i just like Kanye. Would I have stopped for the Phoenix, though?
