Forget Zinc and Steel, Dutch Design Studio OOOMS Sells Gold Plated Staples!

Although these originally released in 2009, this is my first time finding out about them so that makes it news! Funny how that works, right? Anyway, Dutch Design Studio, OOOMS, designs these interesting pieces. You’re probably thinking, “what the hell do I need with gold plated staples?”, well, the rich guy up the street isn’t thinking the same. Haha, is there even a rich guy that lives up the street from you?

What Are Staples Made Out Of Anyway?

Normally, staples are made out of steel and then plated in zinc. For industrial staples, you can usually find them made out of stainless steel. OOOMS forgets the conventional and thinks about the extravagant. If you did happen to come across 59 Euro (roughly $82 USD) that you wanted to spend on these staples, you could use them for many, many things. When released in 2009, they were found being stapled onto clothing for extra flare. On the other hand, though, if you’re a Donald Trump-esque business man then I guess you could just use the gold staples for everyday documents. How dope would that be? I would never do it, though, because something doesn’t sit well with me about upping the price of my documents while little kids in third-world countries are starving to death. *Shrug* that’s just me, though.
