Speaking of TOMS shoes, you didn’t think a TRENDYBLACKGUY like me was gonna just let this trend go by without participating in it, did you? Haha, I’m glad you have faith in me! I just purchased two pairs of TOMS (classic navy for me and the vegan classics for my GF) and they’re pretty dope:
Okay, so back to the main story about TOMS making sunglasses now. Yeah, I saw this coming, didn’t you? It doesn’t make any sense to only sell clothing/shoes when your gimmick is working so well! Okay, wait, let me watch my diction–maybe using “gimmick” is too cynical? Fine. Let me say that Blake Mycoskie’s “One for One” system that powers the TOMS brand is probably the most noble of all major clothing retailers. Well, to my knowledge at least.
Anyway, they’ve started making pretty dope wayfarer style sunglasses (but what company hasn’t these days, right? lol). TOMS promises to help sight-challenged people for every pair of sunglasses bought. Awesome, right? At $135-$145 a set, these sunglasses aren’t on the super expensive side but they’re still damn expensive. I mean, people would rather purchase $10 sunglasses from Urban Outfitters, right? *Shrug* Do your thing, TOMS.
Check out my favorites, they’re Matte Tortoise on a pretty dope interchangeable (with regards to color) frame:
