If you haven’t started to ride the Jeremy Lin wave yet, you better go polish your surfboard and get ready! Jeremy Lin has won the heart of New Yorkers and New York Knicks fans, and he’s definitely the talk of the city right now. NY is my home town, so I definitely support this guy. I’m not going to get into Jeremy Lin’s bumpy rise to popularity in the NBA (you can read all about that on Wikipedia). What I will say, though, is this Asian kid can ball! Also, he went to Harvard for undergrad, so you’ve gotta respect the guy’s intelligence, too! As a medical student–and former division 1 student-athlete–I commend Jeremy Lin for managing the stresses that come with playing a sport while studying at an institution like Harvard. I also admire Jeremy Lin for staying true to everything that makes him who he is.

Anyway, this new installment of the Kobe System Commercials entitled, “Level 6 Beastion,” is hands down the funniest one yet. In fact, this is probably the funniest commercial that I’ve seen in the past year, and I’ve seen some funny commercials. I can’t stop laughing! The dialogue in the Level 6 Beastion commercial is just so cleverly done:

Kanye: How much more do you want from me?
Kobe: More.
Kanye: How much more successful do you want me to be?
Kobe: More successful.
Kanye: How many records can my records break?
Kobe: More records.
Kanye: B-but, I’m the best…
Kobe: But are you a different animal and the same beast?
Kanye: …What the fuck does that mean, Kobe Bryant?
…
Kobe: You’re welcome.
Kanye: What the fuck is he talking about?

LMAO! I love the fact that they both fully grasp how our society views them, and they’re playing off that perfectly. Two egos clash. I mean, imagine Oedipus asking Napoleon for advice or vice versa; it’d lead to a conversation just like this one! I’m pretty sure a lot of laughs were had during the filming of this commercial given how absurd it is!

Best comment on YouTube for this video! It plays off the snippet that Kanye sampled from Will Ferrel and Jon Heder’s “Blades of Glory” for the song “Niggas in Paris”. John Heder says, “I don’t even know what that means!” and Will Ferrel responds, “No one knows what it means, but it’s provocative; it gets the people going!”

And get the people going it does! This Level 6 Beastion commercial has just made me love Kanye West and Kobe Bryant that much more! Despite the nonsense that Kobe Bryant is going through right now, it’s dope to see him still having some fun. Maybe that’s a bad thing? I dunno. Get on the Kobe System!

What a fitting time for me to blog about this defibrillator toaster by Shay Carmon & Studio VE. Why is it a great time, you ask? Well, we happen to be studying the heart right now at my medical school! Anyway, this concept toaster is just really cool to me, and it’s supposed to help “revive your old bread.” Get the joke? If not, maybe you should read a quick Wiki about what a defibrillator actually is.

I’m officially AED certified, so I’m sure operating one of these defibrillator toasters would be a piece of cake–or should I say “a piece of toast”? Okay that was kind of corny but, whatever, I think this thing is dope! There’s no price on this toaster since it’s just a concept, so, I’m not sure if the defibrillator toaster is actually for sale on Amazon, eBay, or anything like that.

Remember when cell phones didn’t exist? I don’t. Lol, no, seriously, I remember a time when board games ruled the world, and people would physically come together and play games like Life, Monopoly, and Scrabble! However, Words With Friends has pretty much taken over the smartphone/tablet scene as one of the most popular virtual board games. Now, everyone can be a master of diction from the palm of their hand. Physical contact is played out, right?

Ironically, some people out there actually still enjoy human contact, and Kristy McAuliffe/Keith Rogers happen to be those type of people. The two got together and created this Homemade Backyard Scrabble game, which is actually super cool! You can enjoy nature, other humans, and a life-size game of scrabble all at the same time. If that’s not the true definition of innovative then I don’t know what is!

Is that really beer in there?

Browsing Format Magazine, I came across this weird USB drive. It’s a promotional USB drive by Budweiser and it’s supposed to be filled with beer. If there really is beer in there then I guess it could come in handy during emergencies. You know those emergencies where you need like 1/20th of a cup of warm beer?? Yeah. Those ones.

Aside from the supposed beer inside the Budweiser USB drive, this drive isn’t anything special at all. Given that you can buy USB drives with, like, 1 TB now, this measly 4GB USB drives is almost worthless. Jolly Rancher soda?! How long has this crap been out? This popped up on my Facebook timeline today, and I was grossed the f*ck out, lol. I’m all for Jolly Ranchers, and I’ll have an occasional soda, but the thought of mixing both just doesn’t sit well with me. This is what our youth is drinking these days, I guess. Someone needs to shut this operation down, haha. Michelle Obama, where are you?!

I’m not sure how official these are since the website for them has been shut down, but they were priced at $68 per condom, which is a bit ridiculous. According to the Huffington Post, “$68 could buy you about six 12-packs of regular condoms,” so you need to have your checkbook balanced before investing in these!

The condom itself is actually embossed with the signature LV print!

The even better news is that you can clean up when you’re done with a Louis Vuitton sponge:
