Anyway, this new installment of the Kobe System Commercials entitled, “Level 6 Beastion,” is hands down the funniest one yet. In fact, this is probably the funniest commercial that I’ve seen in the past year, and I’ve seen some funny commercials. I can’t stop laughing! The dialogue in the Level 6 Beastion commercial is just so cleverly done:

Kanye: How much more do you want from me?
Kobe: More.
Kanye: How much more successful do you want me to be?
Kobe: More successful.
Kanye: How many records can my records break?
Kobe: More records.
Kanye: B-but, I’m the best…
Kobe: But are you a different animal and the same beast?
Kanye: …What the fuck does that mean, Kobe Bryant?
…
Kobe: You’re welcome.
Kanye: What the fuck is he talking about?

LMAO! I love the fact that they both fully grasp how our society views them, and they’re playing off that perfectly. Two egos clash. I mean, imagine Oedipus asking Napoleon for advice or vice versa; it’d lead to a conversation just like this one! I’m pretty sure a lot of laughs were had during the filming of this commercial given how absurd it is!

Best comment on YouTube for this video! It plays off the snippet that Kanye sampled from Will Ferrel and Jon Heder’s “Blades of Glory” for the song “Niggas in Paris”. John Heder says, “I don’t even know what that means!” and Will Ferrel responds, “No one knows what it means, but it’s provocative; it gets the people going!”

And get the people going it does! This Level 6 Beastion commercial has just made me love Kanye West and Kobe Bryant that much more! Despite the nonsense that Kobe Bryant is going through right now, it’s dope to see him still having some fun. Maybe that’s a bad thing? I dunno. Get on the Kobe System!

Even in Hulk mode, Barack Obama still looks calm as fvck!

Something about this just made me laugh. Like, what? I guess if for some strange reason you’ve ever wondered what Barack Obama would look like as The Incredible Hulk, Ron English has put your queries to rest. You know, now that I’ve stared at this picture for long enough, I think there needs to be yet another re-make of The Incredible Hulk, but this time they should cast Barack Obama instead of Ed Norton. Yeah. That’d work.

Drake discussed Kobe’s issue briefly in Rick Ross’ song, “Stay Schemin,” when he says, “Kobe ’bout to lose a hundred fifty M’s / Kobe my nigga I hate it had to be him / Bitch you wasn’t with me shooting in the gym”

That last line got a lot of attention because, well, that’s usually the argument when it comes down to women wanting half of their successful husband’s assets. The argument is basically: why does Kobe Bryant’s wife (Vanessa Bryant) deserve half of his money when she wasn’t there while he was practicing hard day-in-and-day-out? So it’s like, “bitch, you wasnt with me shooting in the gym!” … Another one of my favorite Drake lines from that song is, “Ordered her a filet told ‘em butterfly it she’ll love it / She used to soda and nuggets she really just out here thuggin!”

I think the final settlement was that Vanessa Bryant gets $75 million dollars and three of Kobe’s homes. Does Vanessa Bryant deserve half? What do you guys think?

Again, he’s released a music video that I think is just as awesome as THAT B!TCH CRAZY. Lights (Love Sick) is an interesting track that samples something nostalgic that I can’t put my finger on. Travi$ Scott’s delivery is so reminiscent of Kanye West yet so different at the same time. Again, I’m very excited for Travi$ Scott’s upcoming EP, Owl Pharaoh, if more tracks like THAT B!TCH CRAZY and Lights (Love Sick) are going to be on there.

THAT B!TCH CRAZY!

The Houston community is oddly well connected on Twitter and–having lived in Houston for a year–I guess I follow a few of those well-connected Twitter users. Not important. What is important, though, is this upcoming artist Travi$ Scott (who’s other alias is apparently “Owl Pharaoh”) and his track entitled, “THAT B!TCH CRAZY”. I think he’s from Houston but recently found some success in California. This guy’s sound is ironically refreshing despite the fact that he sounds a bit like a mixture of a bunch of popular mainstream artists out right now.

I’m super impressed with the fact that he’s actually able to pull off the one-man-band thing very well by writing his songs, producing his songs, and shooting the videos (which are all VERY well done, btw). I think with a bit more refining, Travi$ Scott might be included in those fresh new sounds we’re all awaiting in 2012!

Jay-Z and Beyonce are a happy couple!

Beyonce gives birth! Of course, bringing a child into the world is a major event, but bringing a powerful-celebrity-couple child into the world is even more major: Ivy Blue Carter! Congrats to Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) and Beyonce Knowles for bringing a beautiful baby girl into this world. I’m genuinely happy for the two since procreation is what humans do–it’s in our DNA! The baby girl’s name is Ivy Blue Carter, as I exclaimed earlier, and the couple–given how private they usually are–will not be selling or releasing any pictures of Ivy Blue Carter at this time. Smart move. I’d personally prefer to be–or pretend to be–as normal as possible, too, during this time since it’s not about the couple but rather about the beautiful baby girl, Ivy Blue Carter.

According to NY Daily News, “In an effort to keep images from leaking to the public, hospital workers placed tape over security cameras and are forcing employees to turn in cell phones when they arrive for their shifts.” That’s pretty private! In fact, Beyonce also used the alias “Ingrid Jackson” to check into the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. From my understanding as a current medical student, you can’t give fake names in hospitals. I guess the rules are bent for powerful couples–I mean, they rented out the whole floor for $1.3 million. That’s wild!

Dope, dope, dope! Let’s celebrate this awesome day for TRENDYBLACKGUY Jay-Z! Nice to have a true black celebrity baby, lol.

Maaan, it’s good to see Wiz Khalifa back in this awesome form that garnered him mainstream success! Don’t get me wrong–I loved the studio album, Rolling Papers, but something about that sound from the critically acclaimed mixtape, Kush & Orange Juice, just resonated with me. That sound was missing on the studio album, but here it is again on this track ironically entitled, “California,” despite it being recorded in Hawaii. Ah, who cares. It’s dope! Wiz Khalifa’s “California” is apparently going to be on his upcoming mixtape, Taylor Allderdice, so I’m hoping that means he has even more awesome tracks for the next album!

Something about this song just sends the listeners–including me–into a frenzy! This is evident by the amount of times Jay-Z and Kanye West have performed the song per show during their “Watch The Throne” tour. A record breaking (they set their own record initially) 10 times! 10 times! 10 times! The audience at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, rocked out to this song 10 times at one showing! That’s so amazing to me.

This brings me to this video of a guy on an NYC subway train just going H.A.M (excuse my album reference) over this song! This video never gets old, and I watched it go viral after Kanye got word of it and tweeted it. I don’t blame this guy, though, because whenever I play “Niggas in Paris,” I’m pretty much doing the same thing–minus the leg movements, lol.

Umm, yeah, a woman tattooed “DRAKE” on her forehead a while ago. Why? Because it’s Drizzy! Seriously, though, that sh*t is stupid, and Drake had some words to say about it. He talked with Mando Fresko and let out some frustration about tattoo artists allowing people to get dumb things like that tattooed on their bodies.

What a cool & relaxed outfit that Chris Brown wore while shopping at SURU LA! Breton shirts are always in style, as are denim jackets. The khaki carrot pants are awesome, too, and–in fact–I just bought myself a pair of khaki carrot pants 2 months ago and I love them! What really stands out to me, though, is the brooch. Do you see that thing? It’s pretty fvcking dope! I’m not sure who the creator of the monkey brooch is, but the X’s on the eyes are reminiscent of something KAWS-esque. But, alas, I really have no idea. Pretty cool outfit nonetheless, and I can definitely relate to the style while also being inspired.
